NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS
JOINT CAMPUS COUNCIL, Osun Axis.
April 19, 2025.
We, the leadership of NANS JCC Osun Axis, under the stewardship of Comr Solomon Ayobami Abel, are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Gbolahan Ojo, a 100-level student of the University of Ilesha. His untimely demise has left us with a profound sense of grief and loss.
The unfortunate incident that occurred during the thunderstorm on Friday, April 18, where Gbolahan Ojo was electrocuted while playing games on his phone, has left us all in shock and grief. Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of Gbolahan Ojo during this difficult time.
We urge all students within Osun Axis to exercise extreme caution during thunderstorms and avoid engaging in activities that may put their lives at risk. Playing games on phones or using electrical appliances during thunderstorms can be hazardous, and we implore everyone to prioritize their safety.
Gbolahan Ojo's passing is a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the need for us to cherish every moment. May his legacy inspire us to live responsibly and make the most of the time we have.
In this time of grief, we stand in solidarity with the family, friends, and loved ones of Gbolahan Ojo. May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
