We, the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council(JCC) Osun Axis, under the leadership of Comr Solomon Ayobami Abel, stands firm in our commitment to ensuring the active participation of Osun's student population in the democratic process.
We recognize the immense power and influence that youth hold in shaping the future of our state, and we are determined to amplify their voices through voter registration.
Within Osun, our tertiary institutions are brimming with over 80 percent youth, a demographic that represents the very essence of our state's future. It is imperative that these young minds, our future leaders, are empowered to exercise their right to vote and contribute to the selection of those who will guide our state's destiny.
The NANS JCC Osun Axis is not merely calling for voter registration; we are spearheading a movement, a collective effort to mobilize our student body, our brothers and sisters, to register in droves.
Our goal is ambitious, yet achievable: to ensure that no less than 35,000 students within Osun's tertiary institutions are registered with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the 2026 elections.
This is not just about numbers; it's about ensuring that our voices are heard, that our aspirations are reflected in the political landscape. It's about reclaiming our power as a generation, taking ownership of our future, and demanding accountability from those who seek to represent us.
We understand the challenges that students face, the complexities of balancing academics with civic engagement.
However, we believe that voter registration is not a burden, but a privilege, a responsibility that comes with being a citizen of this great state. It's an opportunity to shape the future of Osun, to ensure that our needs and concerns are addressed by those who seek our mandate.
The NANS JCC Osun Axis is not simply a spectator in this crucial endeavor; we are actively engaging, mobilizing, and empowering our student body.
We are organizing awareness campaigns across campuses, providing information sessions, and establishing convenient registration points to make the process accessible to every student.
This is a call to action, a clarion call for every student in Osun to rise to the occasion, to embrace their responsibility, and to register as voters.
Let us stand together, united in our commitment to ensuring that the youth of Osun are heard, that their voices are amplified, and that their future is secured.
