Hon Oke gave a 58-minute interview recently. It did not sound like an interview to me because no difficult questions were asked. In fact, it appeared the questions were seen before the interview.

The 58 minutes interview is not surprising in the least because Hon. Wole Oke must give reasons why he left PDP. The Ijesas would say "ohun to rí lóbè to fi wa irú sọ́wọ́ !"
Our amiable Honourable has done marvelously well in taking care of Ijesa North but the popular adage says "aja ìwòyí lo mọ ehoro ìwòyí le". From 2003 to date is about twenty-three years.

The era of giving agbada, cars and renovating palaces is gradually fading away. Constituents were not aware of constituency projects then, but today constituents are aware of every dimes that should come to their constituency through constituency projects.

Hon. Wole Oke was comfortable answering the questions he appeared to have written for the interviewer. ( Fi ẹran jekọ) I wish Honourable went to Okinbaloye or Arise morning show. They would have shredded him to pieces. Let's look some of the key points of the interview.

Birthday Gift.
Our esteemed Honourable said his resignation was birthday gift to himself. This an is insult to all the voters who had ever elected him under the umbrella of PDP. Dividends of Democracy suppose to be the birthday gifts he should give the people of Ijesa North. No projects to commission, not visiting the motherless home or taking care of the aged and widows, rather he defected to another party where he thinks his bread will be more generously buttered.

PDP At National LEVEL

Hon claimed PDP has problems at National Level. Yes there is a controversy on secretary of the party but is that the first time there will be a problem? He did not leave the party when the party did not have executives, and caretaker committee was running the party. As the highest ranking officer in the South West, he was in the position to join hands and find solutions to the problem instead he was thinking of who will signs his nomination forms for the seventh times.

His claims as foundation members of the party is not in doubt but I was also a foundation members and I can tell the foundation stories. I challenege Honourable to tell us what he donated to the party as foundation member. Of course he could not have done anything then because he was not stupendously rich as he is now. We know people like Uzor Kalu who donated fortunes in dollars. During Adagunodo crisis, he did not leave. When Landero, the PDP state chairman was shot at Ijebu Jesha during the Erin L'ọmọ and Òdú Ni Ẹ, he did not left.
The fact remains that the party groomed you to be rich. The party is not divided in Osun State and Ijesa North. The issue of being in a toxic environment is an over statement. I dare him if Nigerian constitution stipulates one must leave one's seat if you want to cross carpet and re-contest the seat, he will not dare it. That is where the boldness to resign from PDP stems from.

MANY SINS OF THE GOVERNOR
We were all surprised when Hon announced he was paying millions of naira for nomination forms of Senator Ademola Adeleke in Ijebu Jesha Town Hall. I thought that was a waste of consituency's resources because the governor can afford.

No individual from our constituency ever benefitted ten million naira at any time, not even we that followed you blindly or even his family members. Are we to say the nomination forms he bought was an investment to corner appointments and contracts which appears not to have paid off? He also alleges he was not consulted for transition committees, appointment and and awarding of contracts.

The 100 days of Senator Ademola in office, three kilometers of road was done in each constituencies and Ìbòkun was chosen. We have also seen evidences that members of NASS can facilitate road projects to their constituencies.
Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye is a case in study. He facilitated over five kilometers of road to Ijebu Jesha. Our Hons Oke has never done that. He calims in other interviews that it is not the task of a law maker to build roads. Eyin nuun, Olohun nuun. Ijebu Jesha- Ẹrẹ-Ilahun-Ibokun road is over 10 billion naira awarded this year and Ada-Ibokun also over 10 billion awarded also. No Governor has ever brought 20 billion naira to Ijesha North constituency in the history of Osun State.

Hon also said he was sidelined in appointments and projects. He listed all the roads in Ijesha Norths, he listed Esa Oke Imesi road. The fact remains that the road was tarred by Baba Akande in 2003 and no governor have done anything on that road.
Why is he holding Senator Ademola responsible? I put it to him that if he was the governor of Osun, can he fix all the roads you listed in Ijesa North in three years?

He claims the issue of appointments in Ijesas North gives him concern, that he was not carried along. One of your ardent supporters, Hon. Mayowa Adeyolanu is a commissioner from Obòkun. Can he tell us if he had a better candidate than him? In Oriade, Hon Bayo Ogungbangbe was among the leaders that made sure he has spent years in NASS. Hon Tola Faseru was Governor candidate.

Mentioning our brother, Dr Samuel from Atlanta is to court public sympathy. Has he ever brought any federal board appointment for him?

Our dear Honourable continues promising so many Ijebu Jesha indigenes that they will be the next candidate after him until some of them realised that he was pranking them and left the party for him. My brother, Dehinde Orioke is a good example, to mention just one.
It was I who invited Pelumi Olajengbesi, who was youth ambassador, to join PDP. And that was major problem because hitherto he had thought no one in Ijesa North can challenge him.

As a ranking member of the house, must he corner everything? In his twenty two years, he had been chairman defence committee, procurement, public account, judiciary and foreign affairs. What is bad if Senator Ademola supported another candidate for your covert public account chairman? ( Ẹni Kan kii jẹ kí ilè fẹ̀) Hons Bamidele has recover billions of naira for Federal Government. During your tenure as the chairman of Public account, they were invited to Abuja and God knows how they were exonerated. The Unions in OAU has not forgiven you for setting their VC free from contract-splitting.

Hon said in the interview that a young man contested primary with him and was later given State Assembly ticket which he failed to win. The young man was Pelumi Olajengbesi and he was the one who made him failed.
Firstly, Pelumi told the leaders that he was not interested in House of Assembly and the leaders forced him to accept. Hon Oke promised to bankroll all the expenses. His election and Pelumi's election were a week apart.
In Ijebu Jesha, you release eleven million naira for one ward and he gave Pelumi five million naira for whole Local Government of twelve wards. Not only that, your loyalists in Oriade were briefed and all collected bribed from APC candidate to work against Pelumi.

Only we that are from Ijebu Jesa refused to work against Pelumi. After the election, did you reprimand those involved, they collected their balance from Apc and you were mocking Pelumi whom you sabotaged.

Hon Oke drooped Chief Bola Ige's name several times in the interview as if he ever work for the interest of the sage before he died.
He never belonged to Bola Ige parties before. The Cicero University land was bought from Itegun community, and was converted to Esa Oke. After he bought the land he rather built schools in Ibadan and Osogbo.
The combination of the two schools would have been one of the best private universities in the South West and project Esa Oke and his environs to next level in term of economy and development. But Oga prefers urban cities to where he gets his votes. ( Sòkòtò to n sise aran, oko nibo n gbe)

The farmers on the land were pursued and their cash crops were bulldozed. More than ten years have now passed and a block has not been laid at the Cicero University.

The village Hon claimed is his grandfather's farm need to be discussed too. He bought land from Itegun who shared boundary with the village, why doesn't he use your father land? Ọwá is the owner of any land in Ijesaland.
The judiciary inquiry to the land was during Aregbesola tenure and Senator Adeleke has nothing to do with the installation of the king.

Saying Ijesa North is the headquarter of progressive is also an overstatement. Apart 2009 and Aregbesola Tsunami in 2011, we won other elections and you are the sole beneficiary. Ijesa North and PDP are together and that is why people are not ready to follow him to APC.

He claimed every house in Ijesa has at least a graduate which is probably not over statement. If the assertion is correct, why are you training 1000 in technical college? Is either they are not Ijesa or you are relegating them. As at of last counts, Pelumi has sent 6 Ijesa students for master in Europe. The cost of one will pay for 5 thousand examination fees which he's referring to as scholarship.

Another lie is that you left the 1999 House of Rep ticket for Baba Akin Orioke. Baba Akin Orioke brought PDP from Abuja to Ijesa North before other leaders embraced it. He were claimed he dashed it because of Bola Ige.
The fact is that he contested for Chairmanship of Obokun Local Government and he lost to Barrister Williams from Imesi Ile.
That was in the era when going to Abuja was not fashionable. He was given the ticket in absentia with the help of Baba Akin Orioke, who nominated him at Famojuro house in Ibokun and Baba Osanyin supported him.
He did not attend the burial of the two Egboro illustrious sons who made him who he is today. What of others supporters in Egboro, Samco, Dègbá Adewumi (Batutu) Bayo Atobatele, Titi Fasoyin (Iyawo Oyinbo)? Egboro has always been his no 1 supporters, giving him the best without charging him a dime.

Hon Wole Oke, has cashed out in PDP. He should continue to enjoy the Grace of God. He knows how many of them started as politicians.
How many of them made it to NASS? How many of them return to the house a second time? Now that he is the only one among his peers in South West, it is not your doing but God's Grace. He should try not to give further interviews.
He should focus on how he can render services to Ijesha North and humanity because he has now secured his future and that of his unborn generation.

I can say without equivocation that he's coming back to PDP. He should please and try not dig deep. One last advice, Hon Oke should not see some of your former foot shoulders as his enemies because he trained them, he failed failed to empower them not to depend on him.

Oyeniyi writes from Ijebu Jesha
