Electricity workers at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Osogbo control centre have gone on indefinite strike due to several unresolved grievances. The issues include ¹:
- Unpaid Salaries: Workers haven't received their salaries since April 2025.
- Non-Implementation of Minimum Wage: The management hasn't implemented the national minimum wage.

Casualization of Staff: The union is concerned about the casualization of workers.
- Lack of Working Tools and Materials: Workers lack necessary tools and materials for their jobs.
- Operational Issues: Other concerns include lack of operational vehicles, non-provision of personal protective equipment (PPEs) since 2021, and problems stemming from TCN's unbundling.
- Retirement Benefits: Non-payment of retirement benefits is also a major issue.

The strike, directed by the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) Acting General Secretary, Dominic Igwebike, in a letter dated September 24, 2025, took effect immediately. The union expressed disappointment with the TCN management's handling of these issues, stating they've shown disregard for the hardworking staff without a clear plan to address the problems
