A prominent youth-driven and grassroots oriented politician, Hon. Ogunwoye Gbemiga Samson, widely known as OGS, has officially 0signaled his readiness to vie for the Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.
His declaration was made through a series of separate engagements held across Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Areas, where he met with party stakeholders, loyalists, and community members to formally present his ambition and seek their backing.
At the Surulere gathering in Iresaapa, the event drew a significant number of party leaders, ward executives, and supporters who turned out in solidarity.
Among those in attendance were the APC Chairman in Surulere Local Government, Hon. Isaac Aremu; Hon. Olatunji Olaniyan; Renewed Hope Ambassador, Dr. Ahmed Jimoh; as well as representatives of the state executive council, including Hon. Wale Adebayo, Hon. Ibrahim Gbodeniyi, and Hon. Bode Akanni, among others.
In a similar development, the Ogo-Oluwa meeting also recorded an impressive turnout, with key stakeholders and influential figures within the locality expressing support for his aspiration. Personalities such as Bukola Ajiboye, Yahaya Hammed, Hon. Jide Morounranti, and Joel Olagunju were present at the meeting.
Both events, held at Iresa-Pupa Community Hall in Surulere and Opete Community Hall in Ogo-Oluwa, witnessed large crowds, reflecting growing grassroots acceptance of Ogunwoye’s candidacy across the constituency.

While addressing participants at the gatherings, Ogunwoye spoke extensively about his background, emphasizing his strong connection to the grassroots and the experiences that have shaped his leadership journey.
He identified himself as a native of Mogaji Community in Iresa-Pupa and traced his educational path from Aduke Goodness and Mercy Primary School to Great city secondary School.
Sharing his personal story, he recalled the challenges he faced while living in Abuja, where he undertook various low-income jobs, including working as a yam pounder, commercial motorcycle rider, and car wash attendant, all in a bid to further his education.
Despite these hurdles, he secured admission to study Political Science at the University of Abuja and later advanced his education at the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.
He noted that his leadership abilities were nurtured early in life, having held leadership positions throughout his academic years both locally and internationally.
Outlining his plans, Ogunwoye said his campaign is built around what he described as a vision of transformation and hope for the constituency, which he metaphorically referred to as a “rain of blessings.”
According to him, the people of the constituency deserve better representation and improved living conditions, adding that his exposure and experience position him to deliver on that promise.
He further explained that his decision to return home and participate in active politics was motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his people.
Ogunwoye also pledged to uphold transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness if given the mandate, assuring constituents that he would prioritize their welfare and ensure that governance works in their favor.
He added that his experience within the National Assembly has given him a solid understanding of legislative responsibilities, dismissing concerns about being a first-time contestant as a non issue.
