EXPOSED!

• Osun APC Has Now Completely Lost Hope of Winning the Governorship Election in Osun State

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has received credible reports suggesting that certain interests associated with the Osun APC have been exploring every possible avenue outside the ballot box in an apparent bid to alter the political landscape in Osun State.

This report further confirms that the Osun APC has become completely hopeless about its electoral prospects and has abandoned the democratic path of seeking the mandate of the people.

For a considerable period, the Osun APC relied on the expectation that the Accord Party would not be allowed to participate in the forthcoming governorship election through legal and political manoeuvres designed to secure the party’s deregistration. However, every effort made to achieve this undemocratic objective has failed.

The Osun APC is now left with no option but to face the electorate, having failed in every attempt to weaken the democratic process. The party has become frustrated and has now resorted to promoting tension and instability instead of presenting programmes, policies, and ideas capable of earning the confidence and votes of the people.

It is our considered view that no political party that truly believes in its popularity seeks shortcuts to power. A political party that is genuinely confident of victory prepares for the ballot, not alternative routes to political office.

The people of Osun have made it abundantly clear that they desire peace, credible elections, and good governance. They will not be intimidated by political desperation or any attempt to undermine the democratic process.

We call on all democratic institutions to remain vigilant and ensure that no action capable of undermining constitutional governance or the freely expressed will of the people is entertained.

The forthcoming governorship election will be decided solely by the votes of the people of Osun State and nothing else. The people will speak through the ballot, and their verdict must be respected.
