‎Emir Ajagungbade has denied any involvement in recent security incidents in Osun State, describing allegations against him as politically motivated. He called for a thorough police investigation and warned that he would take legal action against anyone spreading defamatory claims about him

‎A political mobilizer and chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun State, Comrade Olamilekan, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, has dismissed allegations linking him to recent security incidents in the state, describing the claims as false, malicious and politically motivated.

‎In a statement made available to journalists, Ajagungbade accused members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State of repeatedly dragging his name into matters unrelated to him in an attempt to deflect attention from what he described as the party’s political setbacks.

‎He specifically denied any connection to the recent cult-related clash that reportedly led to the death of an individual identified as Lexy and other related incidents.

‎According to him, efforts to associate him with criminal activities are aimed at tarnishing his reputation and misleading the public.

‎“The APC is acting out of fear and desperation as it faces growing political rejection. Dragging my name into criminal matters is a futile attempt to divert public attention from its internal challenges and declining political fortunes,” he said.

‎Ajagungbade further stated that available public information suggests that the deceased was allegedly involved in cult-related activities, adding that the circumstances surrounding the incident should be left entirely to security agencies for proper investigation.

‎He called on the Nigeria Police Force to carry out a thorough, professional and impartial investigation to identify those responsible for the killing and ensure justice is served.

‎The Accord Party chieftain also warned against the continued circulation of what he described as defamatory content targeting his person, stressing that he would not hesitate to seek legal redress against individuals or groups found culpable.

‎“I will not hesitate to institute legal action against any individual or group that continues to publish or circulate libelous statements against my person. My name must not be used as a tool for political propaganda or character assassination,” he stated.

‎Ajagungbade urged political stakeholders in Osun State to embrace issue-based campaigns and avoid unsubstantiated allegations capable of threatening peace, public order and the rule of law.

‎He also cautioned social media influencers, bloggers and political operatives against disseminating unverified claims, warning that such actions could attract legal consequences.

‎The statement comes amid heightened political activities in Osun State ahead of future electoral contests, with parties intensifying efforts to consolidate support across the state.
