As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Accord Party candidate for the House of Representatives in Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, is taking the bull by the horns.


The Ijebu-Jesa-born politician and lawyer of international reach is set to challenge the incumbent who has occupied the seat for over two decades with no bill or legacy project to his name.


As Ijesa North prepares for the polls, here are 10 things you probably did not know about the Accord candidate:


1. He is an indigene of Ijebu-Jesa, the headquarters of Oriade Local Government Area, Osun State.


2. He is 40 years old. He was born on 12th August, 1986.



3. He attended Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, Iju-Odo and Holy Flocks of Christ Secondary School, before proceeding to College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti where he bagged his NCE. He later obtained his LL.B from the University of Abuja where he served as President of the Student Union Government (SUG).


4. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016 at the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School.


5. He is an Abuja-based legal practitioner, Managing Partner/Senior Partner at LAW Corridor, and Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA).


6. He is renowned for representing top celebrities and activists including D'banj, Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo and Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, among others.


7. He is a giant in Sports Law and Entertainment Law, with cases argued up to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland.


8. He formally stepped aside from active practice at LAW Corridor to maintain neutrality and fully commit to public service ahead of the 2027 election.


9. He served as the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council for Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election and Convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network.


10. In July 2025, the Ijesa North Traditional Rulers' Council led by the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa endorsed his ambition, stating that the constituency needs vibrant youth representation to replace a 24-year incumbency.


11. His blueprint for Ijesa North is anchored on quality representation, youth and women empowerment, agricultural and rural development, improved healthcare and education, and transparent, accountable leadership that puts the people first.
