National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)
Joint Campus Committee (JCC) Osun Axis
{Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Media Relations}
Date: 17-02-2025
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC Osun Axis has been closely monitoring the current developments within Osun State, particularly the concerns surrounding the security situation and its potential impact on the student community.
In light of this, we appeal to all students across the state to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding while we engage relevant stakeholders to ensure the restoration of peace and order. We recognize the anxiety this situation may cause, but we must all avoid panic and maintain a peaceful disposition during this period.
All students should steer clear of any political gatherings or activities within or outside their campuses until peace is fully restored.
In addition, Students should prioritize their safety by limiting movement in areas prone to potential unrest and following safety guidelines as communicated by relevant authorities.
Also, Student leaders and union executives should work in synergy with NANS JCC leadership to disseminate accurate information and avoid misinformation that may cause panic.
The NANS JCC Osun leadership remains committed to ensuring the safety of all students across the state. We are actively engaging with the appropriate authorities to secure a peaceful and stable learning environment.
Let us remember that peace remains the bedrock of meaningful development. As future leaders, we must lead by example by promoting unity and standing against violence in any form.
We urge every student to act responsibly and avoid actions that may escalate tensions. Any engagement in political activities without clearance from the student authorities may not only jeopardize personal safety but also undermine collective efforts to restore calm.
Together, we will overcome this challenging period and continue to foster an atmosphere of peace, learning, and growth.
Stay safe. Stay united. Stay peaceful.
