STRONG WARNING STATEMENT FROM NANS JCC OSUN AXIS
The Leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council, Osun Axis, issues this urgent warning regarding the controversial programme being promoted by a group parading itself as the Association of Female Comrades (AFC).
This programme, which has reportedly collapsed in multiple South-West states due to poor coordination, manipulative intentions, and misleading sponsorship claims, is now being targeted at the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.
We cannot remain silent while a questionable activity with an already unstable reputation attempts to infiltrate a peaceful academic environment.
THE DANGER ATTACHED!!
1. Questionable Organisers
The so-called AFC is not recognised by any major students’ body, and its previous activities in other states were marred by confusion, leadership clashes, and abrupt shutdowns, Bringing such instability into an Osun campus is unsafe, The only Recognise female students association we are aware of and Allign with is NFSAN.
2. False Claims of Endorsement
The organisers have been *associating themselves with political figures and using names to create false legitimacy*, despite no official clearance from credible authorities.
Any programme built on *misrepresentation* poses a direct risk to institutional trust and security.
3. Unclear Purpose & Hidden Agenda
The content and objectives of the programme do not align with standard academic or advocacy engagements, But Politically motivated positioning, Attempts to expand influence through students And activities that triggered unrest in other states.
4. Potential Security Threat
Any event with conflicting claims, unvetted organisers, and a history of disorder *creates a security vulnerability.
No campus in Osun should be exposed to avoidable tension or infiltration by groups with questionable intentions.
We strongly advise the Provost of the college to deny access to campus facilities for this programme pending full verification.
Allowing such an unregulated event could compromise:
* The reputation of the institution
* The safety of students
* The peace currently enjoyed in Osun campuses
No administration should unknowingly provide cover for activities that may later ignite problems.
We call for immediate oversight of the commissioner of education. Institutions in Osun must not become gateways for *failed programmes, manipulative associations, or politically-charged gatherings disguised as advocacy events*.
We urge security agencies to take note of the *false endorsements being circulated*, The *unrecognised status of the group*, and The *potential of this event to trigger avoidable unrest*.
If this programme proceeds without scrutiny, the organisers, not the students must be held accountable for any crisis that follows.
Osun State is not and will never be a testing ground for programmes that have *failed, divided, or destabilised* other states.
No individual regardless of status should attempt to force controversial activities into our academic space at the expense of student safety.
We categorically state that:
* NANS JCC *did not approve, endorse, or recognise* this programme.
* We will not allow students to be used to validate any arrangement shrouded in lies or misrepresentation.
* For the protection of every student in Osun, *we say NO* to the hosting of this event on any campus within the state.
Our warning is simple remain sacrosanct,
Do not expose Osun students to danger.
Do not smuggle unstable programmes into our institutions.
And do not attempt to create crisis in a state that is at peace.
NANS JCC Osun Axis remains committed to safeguarding the academic environment and protecting every student under our jurisdiction.
