The Pelumi Olajengbesi Campaign Organization (POCO) paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Tolulope Aderogba Adetona Adeyanju II, the Owa Afole of Otan-Ile, as part of its ongoing consultation with traditional rulers in Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

The Accord Party candidate for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Pelumi Olajengbesi, who led members of his campaign team and party leaders to the palace, said the visit was to formally present his manifesto to the royal father, seek his blessings and assure the town of pro-people representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Olajengbesi, while presenting the document, noted that his manifesto, which focuses on sponsoring meaningful bills, youth empowerment, quality education, rural infrastructure, and attraction of federal presence, was crafted after months of engagement with young people, women, artisans and community leaders across the constituency.

He said the people of Oriade/Obokun need a representative who will not only speak for them in Abuja, but also live among them, feel their pains and provide practical solutions to everyday challenges.

"We cannot claim to represent the people without first honouring our traditional institution. Kabiyesi is the father to all of us in Otan-Ile. We are here to tell you what we want to do and to ask you to bless this journey. Our promise is simple - a pro-people, accessible and accountable representation," he said.

Speaking on behalf of the monarch, the Obanla of Otan-Ile, High Chief Ayeni Isiaka, commended Olajengbesi for his respect for tradition and for taking his campaign to the palaces.

He described the candidate as a successful lawyer, humble, and brilliant young man whose antecedents in public service show he is passionate about building people and communities.

High Chief Isiaka offered royal prayers for the success of his ambition and urged him to remain steadfast, humble and faithful to his promises if elected.

The palace visit witnessed the presence of chiefs, women leaders, youths and Accord Party faithful who trooped out to receive the candidate.
