Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Accord Party candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has felicitated the good people of Ipetu-Ijesa, Erinmo-Ijesa and Omo-Ijesa on this year's Founders' Day celebration.
Olajengbesi said Founders' Day is more than an event, but also a celebration of origin, of identity, and of a people who have refused to forget where they came from.
According to the legal practitioner, these towns are great not only because of their land and history, but because of the kind and great people God blessed them with.
He described the people of Ipetu-Ijesa, Erinmo-Ijesa and Omo-Ijesa as special, hardworking and resilient people who are genuinely committed to the growth of their towns.
He praised the youths, women and elders of the towns for building their lives from little, raising children with strong values, and carrying the identity of Obokun/Oriade with pride across the globe.
He stated that Founders' Day reminds us that our fathers laid a foundation of courage, wisdom and community.
"As a son of the land, it is our duty to protect that foundation, harness it for productivity, and make life bearable for women and children. We must work towards rebuilding it for the next generation," he said.
Olajengbesi, while advocating unity, peace and progress, noted that people can achieve more when they come together for a purpose — to rescue, restore and reset Ijesa North.
He also commended the wisdom and guidance of the royal fathers — the Ajalaye of Ipetu-Ijesa Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr. Adeleke Agunbiade Oke; the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, HRM Oba Dr. Michael Odunayo Ajayi, JP, Arowotawaya II; and the Olomo of Omo-Ijesa, HRM Oba Michael Adeolu Oluwaseyi Adejola — in steering the affairs of their towns towards prosperity.
May our towns continue to rise and grow together in peace and harmony.
