Third Year Anniversary: Pelumi Olajengbesi Congratulates Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa

Abuja-based human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Oba (Dr.) Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, on the occasion of his third anniversary on the throne.


This momentous celebration marks three years of Oba Ogungbangbe’s leadership and dedication to the people of Iloko Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area, Osun State.


In his congratulatory message, Pelumi Olajengbesi praised Oba Ogungbangbe’s contributions to the community, highlighting his efforts in fostering unity, development, and cultural preservation. Olajengbesi noted the positive impact of Oba Ogungbangbe’s leadership on the town’s socio-economic growth and commended his dedication to serving the people of Iloko Ijesa.

“Oba Ogungbangbe’s tenure has been characterized by numerous developmental projects and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of his subjects. His focus on education, healthcare, and infrastructural development has been particularly noteworthy, earning him accolades from various quarters.


“The third anniversary of Oba Ogungbangbe’s enthronement is not only a celebration of his achievements but also a time for reflection on the journey so far and the challenges ahead. The community of Iloko Ijesa looks forward to continued progress under his wise and compassionate leadership."


It would be recalled that Oba Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe ascended the throne on May 6, 2021, after a prolonged selection process that lasted nine years.


His appointment came from the Ajagbusi Ekun Ruling House, following the passing of the6th former Owaloko, Oba Oladele Olashore, on June 1, 2012.


The contest for the throne was intense, reflecting the significance and reverence of the position within the community.


The installation ceremony of Oba Ogungbangbe took place on Thursday, May 6, 2021, in Iloko Ijesa Town. This significant event was followed by the coronation and the official presentation of the certificate and staff of office on Saturday, July 24, 2021. The ceremony was a grand affair, drawing dignitaries, community members, and well-wishers who came to celebrate the new monarch’s ascension.
