The attention of the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Osun Axis has been drawn to the outrageous and insensitive attempt by the alumni body of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree to impose so-called Endowment Fees (Developmental fee) and questionable Alumni fee on students while collecting their final resultsthrough the management of the institution.

Let this serve as a clear, direct and final notice.

With immediate effect, NANS Osun rejects and nullifies any form of Endowment Fee or suspicious Alumni Charges being pushed onto students under any disguise whatsoever.

Students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree are already battling economic hardship, school charges, and the harsh realities of the Nigerian economy. It is therefore shameful, irresponsible, and extremely embarrassing that a group that calls itself an alumni association would decide that the best way to support their alma mater is by milking struggling students.

An alumni body that never invested meaningfully in the welfare, development, or academic progress of the students suddenly waking up to impose levies is nothing short of top-notch absurdity and administrative stupidity.

Let it be made abundantly clear:

Students will not fund the ego or survival strategies of outdated alumni figures.

No alumni body has the moral authority to impose charges on students through the management.

Alumni associations across the world raise funds independently, build endowments through donations, partnerships, grants, and personal contributions from successful members not by harassing the very students they claim to mentor.

Unfortunately, what we are witnessing in Iree is the complete opposite of what a functional alumni system should represent.

Instead of supporting students, this particular alumni group appears to have chosen the path of financial disturbance, unnecessary interference, and administrative nuisance within the student community.

Going forward, we strongly advise the Iree Alumni to respect their boundaries.

The student community is not your fundraising ground.

If these unnecessary charges persist in any form, NANS Osun will not hesitate to mobilize stronger actions across campuses. We will ensure that every alumni structure and management body attempting to exploit students will be exposed, challenged, and dismantled where necessary.

If some individuals hiding under the banner of alumni associations continue this reckless behavior, they should be ready to face the full resistance of the Nigerian student movement.

We also strongly recommend that the Iree Alumni Association educate themselves on how functional alumni systems operate globally, because what is currently being practiced is a disgrace to the concept of alumni engagement.

Let this message be properly understood:

Students are here to study, not to finance the survival of disconnected alumni elites.

Any attempt to continue this exploitation will be resisted strongly, publicly, and relentlessly.
